Office for Mission and Rector

We focus on the development and presence of the Catholic and Marianist character of the University. Our goal is to make this character visible, fruitful, and pervasive in every facet of University community and life. Marianist Educational Associates promote, support and live this mission on a daily basis.

Throughout 2011 the University of Dayton will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of Blessed William Joseph Chaminade's birth.  Chaminade, a French Roman Catholic priest, survived the French Revolution and started the Society of Mary, also called the Marianists, in 1817.  The Society of Mary founded the University of Dayton in 1850.  Click here to keep informed about special liturgies, exhibits, lectures and events throughout 2011 to celebrate his birth.  The celebration began when the Marianist Family of the Dayton/Cincinnati area gathered to celebrate the Eucharist at the University of Dayton, Saturday, January 22.

Marianist Education Associates

Marianist Education Associates (MEA) form a community of lay leaders, faculty, staff and administrators, recognized within the institution as vital partners who steward Marianist and Catholic values and traditions. The MEA purpose is to strengthen and develop the Marianist mission of the University by learning, being witness to the vision and welcoming challenges as opportunities to adapt and transform the University community. The MEA strive to preserve and advance the Marianist charism through the institution, and ensure that this foundation remains integral to the future of the University. More >>
