Profile

Dr. McLeod specializes in Ancient Chinese Philosophy and ethics, and in particular works on Confucian ethics, the ethics of community and family, philosophical issues surrounding the Lunyu (Confucian Analects) and its early commentarial tradition, and Eastern Han dynasty philosophical method. In addition, he has interests in Indian philosophy (esp. early Buddhist thought), Native American philosophy, and Ancient Greek ethics. His dissertation was entitled "Moral Personhood in Confucius and Aristotle."
